Family: Adult members of the community share a commitment to care for and educate and love our own children and all children who live among us and are part of the great communitarian family. The basic unit of this social model lies in the conviction that not only biological parents or relatives of children influence their formation, but all those who interact with them. We are all teachers of our children and, consequently, we all function as parents.
Work: In Los Horcones all members cooperate in the processes of production and obtention of goods and services. We try to organize and divide the work so that each member of the community can be efficient, productive and above all, enjoy the activities they perform.
Decision-making: Since its inception, Los Horcones experimentally tested various forms of government looking for one that maximizes the reinforcement and minimize aversive (unpleasants) to generate pro-social behaviors. We found that a government that is cooperative, egalitarian and peaceful (non-violent) is the best for a community.
